NS522 any out there?

Well I went to the range for the first time with my ns522 yesterday and I have to say I am very impress. It was really cold and I didn't have much time so I didn't have time to shhot a proper group but from the looks of it it seem to be laser accurate and I was only shooting federal cheap bulk ammo. I was hitting my 8" can am gong all day at 200 yars with crazzy holdover as I had my scope zero at 50 yards.
I will even say that tge trigger is as good or better then my savage 10 tr with the accu trigger set at the lowest :s

I just cracked mine out of the box today, my first NS rifle. Initial impression is that it is nicer than I had expected, not knowing what to expect from a Chinese rimfire! It is beefy, and the wood looks nice.

I take the wood off and immerse all the works in a bath of gasoline for 24 hours. I made a cleaning tank out of 2 1/2 inch plastic pipe and a cap (the white plastic) . You can pour the used gas into a big jar and let the gunk settle and then decant it to be used over next time.

Get a large old towel. Just wipe it off. Then use G96 for a wipe, then spray g96 on it again. After taking the bolt apart etc. Let it sit so the G96 soaks in. Start taking apart your second or third one at this time
. Then ad a bit of 0W40 synthetic diesel oil to places for oil such as the bolt, receiver guides etc. Action will now be practically self cleaning and slick. For the barrel, same thing only no diesel oil. us a jag, or a bore snake for one quick pass through. I know many on here are against the bore snake. It has it's place. In this case it does work well for the initial clean as the bores are clean and you just want any preservative out. It won't take you long. I don't know why people say it takes so long to clean these. It really doesn't. Using the large towel which you later just put in the wash, works great and is very quick. Dog towels etc. A bath sized one works well. Just so you know though, you will find the bolt won't go in. You need to hold the body of the bolt, and then the end while twisting clockwise with the right, counter with the left. It will twist and you'll hear it as it cocks the firing pin. The back peg indicating it's cocked will be out. Now the bolt will go into the receiver. After that you'll find it very quick and easy of a rifle to take apart and put back together.
Should also add, Let the G96 soak in the extractors. Then just work them a bit to ensure they are loose. Should ensure you have no extraction issues. It works a lot like using Wd40 without sucking as a gun treatment/lube like WD40 does.

Just a quick update.
My new NS522 arrived from doctordeals today. It has the exact same stamp as the rifles from Canada Ammo ("KFS, Atlanta, GA").
One mag or two? Do you mind sharing what the exact cost was to you shipped?

The ones i bought for my grandkids (4), all of them are flawless and more accurate than the shooter, they come with 2 mags and cleaning is mandatory for those rifles, especially, the bolt ass'y, while in special, they were 210.00 each / all in... JP

The rifle comes with 2 magazines. Same package as Canada Ammo was selling.
Even considering the higher total cost, it's probably the only store in Canada where you can still buy BNIB NS522. It won't take long for them to run out of stock. Only some lucky local guys who can avoid shipping cost can buy this rifle for under $300.

Yes, it's a big jump from $210 but those days are over.

I was going to sell one of the 2 I got but dam I just can't believe the price, quality of the trigger ( as good it not better then my savage 10 tr set to the lightest ) and accuracy of those guns. I was hitting my 8" can am gong all day at 200 yards on a heavy wind day's and with cheap federal bulk. I can't weight to group the one I got scoped at 100 yards.

I would bet they will make another batch or ship more over. For me, I'm just going to wait until something new and shiny comes out and one of you OC Gun Nutz decides to sell their's for a bargain price. I can wait for my precious!......lol
Lucky, i could get mines at a ridicilous low price, those 522's are a lot of rifle,even at 350.00 they are worthed the price, made a comparaison trigger /accuracy with my Savage TRR and the 522 is just more accurate and better shooter... My grandkids are shooting rifles that have a lot of potential and i like that... JP.
Well, I wouldn't hold my breath. The last batch (or the current batch, depending on your perspective) was made in the mid-1990s for the American market. The Clinton gun ban (circa 1997) prevented a good number of 522 barrelled actions from making it to Atlanta. They then wound up in a customs warehouse somewhere, where they were rediscovered some 15-16 years later. At some point thereafter, they acquired their ill-fitting EM-332 stocks and turned up for sale in Canada. That supply line has probably ran its course.
