Ok my local shop didnt have any H335, so i went with Benchmark. Its right above 335 on the burn charts. Anyone use it with 55g vmax in 223? If so what ya running and what kind of groups are you getting?
thanks.
Jesse
I've used that combo with CCI magnum primers and RP brass in my Savage Axis. Inexpensive little rifle but fairly accurate. My best groups with Benchmark however were only 1-1/4" at 100yds with a load of 25.0gr. Went from min to max in 0.5gr increments. My rifle seems to prefer H4895 or CFE223 with the 55gr VMAX. Benchmark performed better with the 69gr SMK's for whatever reason; a hair under 1/2" on a regular basis. Your rifle will of course most likely respond differently.
Good shooting sniper. I had similar results with H335, will try and post a pic shortly, but now i cant get 335 so hopefully benchmark works as good for me as it did you.
Very nice grouping there! I see that you have the same problem with 1 "wayward" bullet that I do
My Savage VLP and Remington VTR shoot the same Benchmark load equally well.
Amazingly enough, they both do quite well with H-335 and Speer 52 gr hollowpoints as well. (25.0 gr)
I've got about 6 lb of H-335 and less than 4 lb of Benchmark right now. Need to find more Speer 52 gr HP's
