I got confused for a minute when I got them mixed up with Patriot Ordnance Factory from the U.S. Did one copy the other or just co-incidence ?

POF (Patriot Ordnance Factory) used to be called POF US because they are the official US distributor of Pakistani Ordnance Factory. POF started the business years ago in the importing of Pakistani G3 and MP5 part kits into the US.

As the war on terror went on, obviously association with Pakistan is not such a hot idea. They have also moved away from importing Pakistani MP5 and G3 part kits, to making their own AR rifles.

So the name POF USA is transformed from Pakistani Ordnance Factory USA to Patriot Ordnance Factory.

The availability of Lee actioned rifles kind of puts the DND claims that there are no parts for the Ranger's No4 rifles in an interesting light, doesn't it. I'm guessing the Government of Canada would make a few friends in India by ordering a few thousand parts sets from the Government of India.

I tire of this derisive attitude towards the Ranger Rifle project. DND's Item Managers and Lifecycle Material Managers have been all over this problem for years. If there was a solution, it would have been found. The issue is not supply, but reliability. Canada will never accept file-and-fit parts for any fundamental equipment, and especially not for rifles. There is no maintenance tail for the Ranger rifles, so everything has to be drop-in replacement.
