I'm looking around for a good 17hmr rifle. I'd be willing to spend up to 400 bucks. As of now I think the Savage 93 with a heavy barrel and wood stock is my best option. Is there anything out there that is a better choice?
Do you think a .17hmr will kill a coyote?
if you are a handloader, you can make up 58 grain squibs with Trail Boss for your .243 and shoot squirrels and rabbits with those.
I don't hand load, but that would be a great idea. Do you know if anyone sells them?
It is not a good idea to "sell" handloads due to liability.... but maybe you have a friend or "friend of a friend" who wouldn't mind loading some for you.
As a benchmark, 8 grains of TB with a 100 SP will net a little over 1000 fps
It's actually illegal to sell handloads, unless you are licensed to manufacture ammunition for commercial purposes.
