Holosun 403g red dot

i got one of these, i love it. Thinking of picking up few more in the near future.
mine came with a riser though.

You can't compare Aimpoint PRO with the Holosun micro dots.
Aimpoint PRO is a lot bigger and more heavier than the micro dots.

I was not comparing their weight or size I was comparing it on a price/quality perspective. Almost $320 for a holosun and a mount compared to $380 for an aimpoint pro.

It looks like Aimpoint PRO have gone up in price to almost $500 brand new.

You can get the mount for $70 and the Holosun can be had for $180. So that is $250 for both the sight and mount (half price of the Aimpoint pro).

And the weight and size are big differences for some people and some people will pay more for lighter and smaller optics.

Did return mine for replacement, there was 3 dot instead of one, send it a month ago, no news yet... JP.

I hadn't seen them so cheap. Perhaps at that price point it is useful for a good group of people. I just bought an aimpoint pro for less than $400 shipped earlier this month from a sponsor.

more to my point about quality. Who does the warranty work on these? I think a bushnell trs25 would be a better deal if one was going with a lower cost option.

Sadly all the dealers I looked at that have the Aimpoint PRO in stock are selling for $500.

These Holosun sights are very close clones of the micro... Even down to the battery life.

milarm had a 50% off deal on boxing day. that would mean about $250 for a pro and around $300 or so for a h1. Crazy prices...

So, any of you guys know what the G model offers that makes it $40 more than the A model? Looking at the basic specs that I've seen they look very similar.

not 100% sure but there is a model with the battery in the base of the optic and it uses a one off mount. There is another model with the battery on the side that uses the aimpoint T1 mounts.

I just ordered the HS403A with the battery compartment in the base. Great reviews and torture tests on youtube. I don't like the new sliding 'door' battery compartment and the fact they got rid of the 'auto on' on the new 503's coming out in the new year. I'm not at all concerned about the proprietary mounts because it comes with both the 1/3 co-witness as well as low profile mount which are the only 2 I would use anyways.

Would these sights stand up to the recoil of a mid loaded 45-70?

I'm sure they would. On youtube there are several video's with the holosun used on shotguns that held their zero. If it holds up to a 12 gauge with slugs, it will hold up to any rifle round.

I received my HS403A today. I have to say I am very impressed. The quality of the housing/mount and most of all the quality of the dot is excellent. I have used red dots for many years hunting and this is definitely top notch. I also love how small/compact and light it is. Excellent for the Tavor. The only 'observation' I have is that it does not auto turn on as easy as I expected. You really have to wiggle the crap out of the gun to get it to auto turn on. Not a biggie, just unexpected.

The Tango Down dust cover fits perfectly, you can push the brightness buttons through the cover. For the price, I am quite happy with this sight.
