Help with identifying my m305

The mount looks like it the one that Marstar sells. I'm not sure about the year but I think it could be an earlier model due to it's flash hider. That one was for the Californian laws.

I might have understood it wrong but when Clinton was in power, he put a ban on Chinese firearms and the shipment on route at the time was redirected to Canada.

In the pic you covered up the serial number. What is the first 4 digits. Mine is a 2009. The serial number is 2009****. That should help with the year I think.

So the pre-Clinton ban Norcs and Chinese SKS in the US are legal to own? They must fetch a pretty coin down there.

Yes, they could buy them Pre-Clinton and the ones are there are still legal to own. H2O MAN here on this board has a few of them as yes, they do get a pretty penny for the Nork down south. I see them ask/sell for close to $1500
Ok that makes sense now. So you figure my Norc is that old? If so, was there any problems with older ones?

My understanding is that the older ones did have a better finish as some were blued and the ones that had been parkerized with nicely done. Your finish looks pretty nice going by the pics.

Said in an earlier post, it looks like the mount that Marstar sells.
Take it off if it gives you any POI issues and get a real mount like a Smith, ARMS or M14.ca, I hear they get good reviews.

I have one with a solid flash hider and marked "m14" like yours, unlike others with cut hiders marked "m305". Sort of confusing. I also have a similar mount, I think I saw one on the marstar site that looked just like it, not sure as it came with the gun when I bought it, but it was the closest match I found!
