what do you think of the .380 Auto?

I have a few .380's and I like them, but they are all prohibs like most pistols in this caliber. There are a few non-prohibs but not too many so it kind of restricts the number of people with them. I bought a couple thousand Frontier plated bullets so it is pretty cheap to reload for, just a few pennies cheaper than 9mm per round. My .380's have snappier recoil than my 9mm's but they are smaller and lighter too. I think my favourite is my AMT Backup.

Didn't really have any problem getting my stockpile of 1600 rounds together, and paid only a little more than 9mm, but a hell of a lot less than .45, 40, .357, and a lot more than 7.62 by 25. What's your point? As I said before....only cheap cartridge is an unfired one, especially since all the ones up here are just for punching holes in paper. If cost was the only thing that mattered, .22LR all the way.

I for one love having a variety to play with.

Boy, you are quite touchy and opinionated. Not a big surprise based on your location and sig line.

Either way, have fun shooting what you want but my point is I wouldn't advise a .380 as a range only gun. It is less powerful, generally comes in small (unavailable in Canada) guns and is more expensive.

I think it is adequate as a self defense round in small pistol and I enjoy carrying a P238 but it wouldn't be my home defense or winter carry cartridge of choice.

Hmm, didn't think I was being touchy. And what's wrong with my sig line or location? Judging me are ya? Prefer that lefties dont have guns, or prefer that some of us are pro-gun? Just pointing out that I didn't have any problem getting ammo (and I know where I can get more, although I have enough to reload now). And also that they are all really just toys here, so the more variety the better. I won't respond with a dig about your location or sig line ;)
