Of course not, but even a Turnbull rifle built from a newer receiver would satisfy me just fine

A Model 92 Trapper in .454 Casull or .475 Linebaugh (if the rim diameter would work) sounds pretty sweet to me.

Rossi made 92's for Legacy Sports in .454 Casull and .480 Ruger and Winchester should do the same. The .475 Linebaugh is to long for the action.

Yup I think your right... The last one I saw sell at an auction (in AB.), probably 20 yrs ago, sold for $29,000

About this time last year, very briefly, the 2014 Winchester site listed the Featherweight being available in .300 H+H....and then it vanished! Heart broken I put the money back in the kids piggy-bank. Maybe this year.

From what the Winchester 2015 site shows I'm not excited. Seems the model 70 line-up has added a standard sporter 300WM with a RMEF grip-cap and Super-Grade's in .243,7mm-08 & .308. Hope that's not it.

Yer close on the overall length of the 2... 1.70" vs 1.77", but the kicker is the rim diameter... .600" for the .475 vs .512" for the .454 Casull. Winchester could easily do up a batch of Model 92's in 50 Action Express though which shares the same rim diameter, case length & C.O.L as the .44 magnum. Now that would be neat.

They list a 280 Remington in the fwt model. Initially it is showing a 1-10twist, which I assume is incorrect.
