I am looking to purchase a Smith & Wesson SD40 VE. Where in Canada are they sold? I am looking for a dealer that sells that have them, or can order me one in.

The guy wont sell it at the price he is asking, he is looking to get way more then what he is asking for. I offered him money the money he wanted and he said he "has more interesting offers" ???? So I am looking for a dealer, I will just buy brand new.

Jo brook, they only have the 9mm in stock by the looks of it. But shoot them an email maybe they're getting some more soon.

I bought the 9mm version, be aware that the trigger is awful (8 lbs + and long, spongy) and the recoil seemed to be more than my full sized pistols. Might be over the threshold for some in a .40. I was lucky enough to find the 5.5 lb Apex trigger kit for mine, haven't installed it yet.

Here's my SD9:

Irunguns has one at $355 US, which wasn't competitive to the prices we had here... oops, never mind as I forgot about the 4" prohib barrel in the US.

SD40's w/4.25" barrels aren't in stock that I can find right now.

Rebranded Sigma Series.

If it is, they have different triggers as the Apex trigger kit specifically states it will fit the SD's and NOT the Sigma's.

It's actually a newer, improved version based on the Sigma. Anyone saying it's the same pistol just rebranded, would be wrong.

Didn't Dominion Outdoors have a huge "presale" on them? You could put your name on the list, but didn't have to commit if you didn't want it once it was in stock.

Yes they did, a month ago. All sold out. SD9 or SD40's aren't even listed on their site now. $359 pistols sell quickly. JoBrook still has some 9's in stock @ $359.95. I paid $369 for mine, but it was local so no shipping. I know some bought them on sale and got an even better deal.

I had my name on the list, but went with the Diamond Back due to the length of the barrel (longer sight radius), reports of a "soft shooter" (not bad recoil), a nice trigger and reset and the ease of finding extra mags. I read some reviews of the SD had a terrible trigger and I wasn't sure of the mag availability. With the exchange rate and shipping the DB FS9 should be about the same price.
