I have a rifle with a red dot installed and was wondering if I put a red laser sight on it would I be able to see it through the red dot. The red dot has a red coating on the downrange end and was thinking that the reddot may have a kind of filter in it to block/reflect red light.
Can you use a red laser sight with a red dot sight.

At best, you won't know which little red dot to put on the target. At worst (and most likely) you'll realize that red lasers are most effective in Hollywood, or when you're clearing an enemy compound on a dark night.
If you really want to add new toys, a green would be the way to go. Sight the green dot at 5 yards and the red at 50.

I've tried the red dot sight (T1) and a crappy Sun Optic laser. You can see both through the sight but the laser is extremely faint even in darkness and almost impossible to see in any type of light. You may be right about some sort of filter on the T1. Also you have to sight in the laser to a specific distance ie. co-witness with your red dot. Any closer or further, you will see 2 dots. Like Kodiakjack says, leave the laser for Hollywood.
Coyotes killing my cats. I don't like the cats but i like the coyotes less. They tend to be hanging right around the house at dusk. so just wanted some thing i could maybe see a bit better.
