The only thing I would worry about at this point is the chamber length, everything else gives good indications of a gun in gopod shape.ok, unsure if this info is correct but I am told the markings pertaining to the chokes say 17.3 over {with a line} 18.4 on one barrel, and 17.8 over 18.4 on the other this means the gun was proofed before 1924 if it only had say 17.3 and 17.8 it would be after? unsure if correct
also cant find markings for chamber length, scares me a little because the only marking I see is 12 over C in a triangle, and D=65 over {with a line} 20.5 m/m, may this suggest this is NOT a 2 3/4" chamber? standing lion over PV is another marking, and a funny looking pyramid kinda thing with a tower {don't know how else to explain it}
oval with crown on top inside ELG and a star, a couple other marks but know idea how to explain P1K465.5, another almost looks like the pie symbol and a little star over and maybe a scroll C
my other findings as follows {as per a helpful cgn'r}
barrels at muzzle touching appears never cut or tampered with
a very distinct ringing when holding the barrel hook and flicking with my fingernail
barrel hook perfectly smooth
no wiggle or play whatsoever with forearm on or off
no gaps in receiver
paper is completely tight like a vice when locked up, pulling rips the paper
locking mechanism just right of center
Westarm you obviously have a lemon, better pack it up ad send it to me - I will pay the shipping , of course, and the $220 you originally paid for it.ok, unsure if this info is correct but I am told the markings pertaining to the chokes say 17.3 over {with a line} 18.4 on one barrel, and 17.8 over 18.4 on the other this means the gun was proofed before 1924 if it only had say 17.3 and 17.8 it would be after? unsure if correct

The more I look at this gun the more I am happy that you jumped on it instead of starting a thread like
" well, I saw this old FN shotgun for $220 and thought I might buy it but when I went back the next day it was gone- did I screw up?" :>)
That guns is just going to slay anything that gets in front of it, I am sure!!

looks like one I sold at Ellwoods about 7-8 yrs ago.
do you know the serial # of the one you sold, this one is #s match in 3 spots i can find receiver, barrels and fore end.
Sorry no. I remember getting $260.00 for it. When I got it it had been in a barn for a few years and locked up. Casey from Tactical Ordnance got her ship shape though. If it is the same one it was used in a suicide by a friend of a friend in the 70's so I dumped it as it was freaking me out having it in the house.
