Hi I am interested in buying an aftermarket barrel for my 10/22 just not sure which one to get. I have a Kidd trigger in my gun right now and love it so I am wondering if their barrels were as good or which one to get. I want really tight groups and not to heavy of a barrel cause its on a heavy sr22 frame. Would prefer matte black or blued steel just not sticking far out of my foregrip tube. I have heard that green mountain, dlask, Kidd or shilen are good just not sure and where can I get one in Canada. Thanks in advance everyone

Are you going to invest in match grade ammo ($0.17- $0.50 per round) and a quality optic? If the answer is no, you're wasting your money.

Nothing wrong with the factory barrel, it shoots just fine with cheap bulk 22(like there's any other kind). A dlask barrel would be a cheaper alternative to a GM or tac Sol barrel. Nothing wrong with going all out for a barrel or trigger group. Just keep in mind that you won't see amazing results unless you go all out on the whole package.

The three things that improve accuracy the most (in order of importance);
1. Match grade ammo
2. Top notch trigger group
3. Quality barrel with a match chamber
You already have an excellent trigger (assuming that you were talking about the whole Kidd trigger group unit)... testing your gun with quality ammo should be a priority, but even though ammo is "THE" game for accuracy, I don't see the point of testing ammo in the factory barrel... so go ahead with a Kidd or Dlask (both are excellent), but unfortunately for you, the thing that contributes the most to accuracy in a barrel is a match chamber... and I say "unfortunately for you" because in a semi auto platform, that match chamber that improves accuracy will cause issues with function... you will experience a higher rate of FTL & FTE's... the chamber will have to be kept meticulously cleaned as will your action... you will have test ammo not just for accuracy but also for function... the good news is that it is a lot of fun trying to figure it all out and testing ammo. I have two 10/22s both have Kidd two stage triggers. One has a 20" Green Mountain bbl, the other an 18" Kidd barrel.
I find the GM bbl to be slightly more accurate.
As hoytcannon stated, to get good results requires quality ammo.
