OK Browning 10ga shooters,...
I usually shoot the regular "Federal Premium Ultra shock" through the "full steel, modified lead" standard "Invector" choke in my 10,..but today I came across a good deal on some "Black Cloud". I know "Black Cloud" ammo seems to prefer an open choke,... So my question is what do you find better in your 10ga with "black cloud",..full or modified choke. Shot size is #2.
I shoot "Black cloud" #2 in my "Browning gold 12ga" threw the "Modified Steel" "Invector plus" choke and it is deadly, so I am curious to know if I should switch to the more open choke in the 10. I know I can go do a pattern test, but I would like to hear from you also.

Thanks

I used the factory mod steel choke and got great result and used my 720 terror choke for some far pass shooting on geese. What range are you typically shooting at ?

My shooting with the 10 ranges from hunting over decoys, 20-40+ yards, to pass shooting out to 50+ or a little more. Most time when pass shooting I am shooting "T's",...I find "T's" will kill at extended ranges only a 10ga shooter can understand, lol.

For 20-30 yards i usually use my improve cyl and when 30-40 my mod and 40+ my 720 terror. The terror is a great patterning choke in the browning 10

It is nothing more than a guess unless you take the time and shoot the paper
I have two gold 10ga and other than one being camo they are identical but each pattern totally different with the same choke tubes and I mean enough that it would matter
Just my 2 cents

I like that and agree 100%. Should see what they can do in high speed duplex RSI reloads of TT over BBB
Who says the old killing of the lead days is gone ;)
Cheers

Right on guys,.. thanks for the replies. I think your right 3macs1,..it's just a guess unless a pattern test is done.

brybenn,..I know quite a few guys around here that have switched to 10 ga guns after seeing high flying geese pulled from the air at ranges that a 12 ga couldn't think of.

That's the reason I drag out my 11.6 lb sxs to the goose fields. It's a joy to shoot. Kills them dead and I never have to worry about stopping my swing in the wind
