50 cal Desert Eagle 1986

Hehe so if I wanted to take it off of firendsforgood how much should I ofer him?

I myself wouldn't buy it, there is a reason they upgraded, and I am sure for what he wants for it you could hold out and get a newer version for only a couple hundred dollars more but again my opinion I have seen them sell for around $1200 I have yet to see any DE sell for under a grand there was even a broken 357 awhile back and I think it even sold for a bit over a grand, there expensive period!!! But the week before I sold mine I was popping shots off at our 200 yard gong and I hit it a few times there a hoot for sure

There is a brand new DE that just came out in stainless with a lower rail on it. That will suppress the selling price of the older ones for sure. Even the MK XIX will probably go for less now.

its amazing how many people here open a thread asking for advice, get it and when its not what they want to hear get mad or defensive, dude don't be rude there is no need to insult anyone take what you want from the info given thank them very much and move on you will find very little help here if you be a #### everytime you post a thread, i also had a desert eagle but it was in 44 mag i actually loved it and sold it to someone who actually loved it as much as me he actually pm'd me several months after the sale telling me how much he loved it so it was kind of cool and i may actually own one again as well but when a guy pays over a $1000 for a gun usually we tend to go for as new as possible its unfortunate but it seems to be the way of the ee
good luck on your potential sale i hope you get what you want for it and its unfortunate its not an xix cuz hey ya may have had a sale hahaha

lol!!!

The answer is, the market for a knowledgeable buyer has already been given; a more impulsive and less informed person may pay more. If the DE is a $2k gun new, I'm sure you can convince someone that $200 less than that is a deal, if they don't know there's generally a glut of used ones. The pistol is really not super practical, but yes it's fun. Just need to find a buyer with the right combination of wealth, machismo, and not paying attention to the EE. They are out there!

A ‘first edition’ is collectible if there is collector demand. There may be a *few* people who collect, say, a .50, a .44, and a Baby. But as for collecting every version, which could include calibres, design variations, and of course the famous finishes like chrome and gold plating, plus blue and SS and whatever? I think _that_ market is limited to cartel lords…

Guy on the EE had a chrome/gold accent DE on there for $1350 ( these are asking prices - sold prices are unknown), listed as sold. Blued one for $1450 sold. Gold one there for $1950, bumped to infinity. Like I said, I had a hard time selling mine for a cash price, so if he gets $1200 he'd be doing fine. Maybe the US $ moving up will help his sale, but he won't know until he lists it.

There are WTB ads posted for DE, there wasn't when I was selling about a year ago. If I was selling now, I'd take pictures and send to all the WTB ads first then list it if no sale is done.

Unsure why I'm helping this guy, he'll tell me I have weak wrists again because I didn't like the gun :runaway: I couldn't get a cash deal to my satisfaction so had to rely on a cash + trade deal to get more value and mine was a current model at the time with a super low round count. Trade or Trade + cash is an option too, if there are other guns he's looking for.

That gun was re-finished. . I was thinking of buying it until I got the hi rez pics and saw there were some big boo boos on it. Buyer beware

Blued is not a factory finish although it must have been way cool

Original black finish isn't bluing? All the fancy finishes must be mostly for 'show' as soon as it starts being a range regular I'm sure that beautiful finish gets marred quickly.

Stock factory finish is black oxide.......... depends on the finish but I can tell you polished chrome, matte chrome, brushed chrome and titanium gold are all tough as nails and will look good for many years to come.

I guess they're only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. If you want one bad enough you will pay more. LGS had 2 used last year. First sold for $800 and the second one with extra barrel sold for $1K. Both were in good shape. Not my cup of tea but there are others who consider these a 'must have'. God only knows why..

I've decided to keep it because I love it

Maybe you should think about getting another one!!!
