I always thought it was Sayco, but the I watched one of them TV shooting shows and the dude there was saying "Sacko". It was hard for me to accept it! I'm a Swede. What really is the correct way to pronounce it?

yes indeed, now there are 3 words that I just can't stand! Horse whipping should be allowed in these cases.

This is good.

I've seen all three of these errors many times......who the he11 doesn't know the difference between lose and loose?.....makes you want to lose it for sure.

muzzle brakes,.....coffee breaks,...disc brakes...there are differences.....

Orientated is another irritating one.....it's not even a word....

I used to have a shooting friend who used the word "obliverate"...he was combining obliterate and oblivion.....

I guess if a gopher was smacked with a 40gr VMax he saw it as being both obliterated and blown to oblivion, hence the new word obliverate....:)

I am of Scandinavian descent, and while Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are closely related, the Finnish Language is from a different base tongue.

That being said, I have several close friends who are Finns, and they all concur: "Sawco" or "Socko" is the correct pronunciation..

Since we have expanded the whining to include pretty much everything... I would like to thank JP for creating the word "finition." The definition of which is; the fit and finish as it relates to a firearm, ie. "The Winchester Supergrade is wonderfully accurate and has excellent finition."
 
Rembo, gophers kersplode. ;) Although I like obliverate!

Don't forget the recent EE ad where the rifle had a muscle break. No idea what that is, but pretty sure I don't want anything like that on a rifle!

Drives me nuts when people miss the "L" in Bell and Carlson. Everyone seems to say Carson, it's Carlson like Carl's son. Say it with me Carlson.
 
You want to learn proper gun terminology. Go to YouTube and search ghost gun. Watch the California governor educate America about proper gun terminology. 30 round magazine clip. That's right. Thats a real thing. Oh and it shoots that all in 30 seconds.


Edit. It's 30 caliber magazine clip which it fires in half a second.

You probably already know this, but "finition" is the French word for "finish".
 
My pet peeve is people asking for bullet "tips", "heads", "leads" when referring to the bullet part of the cartridge.f:P:
