Hi there,

I saw on some reloading data that it exist a Barnes 180gr bullets in .270WIN. Does someone know where I can order some? Any experience?

Regards,

Barnes does not market a 180gr .277" bullet.

Even if someone was selling 180gr .277" bullets, the odds are that most factory 270win rifles would not stabilize them. That is one reason for not offering such a bullet, the other being that it really offers no advantage over the .277" bullets that are sold now.

Well, I saw some recipes on the Hodgon reload data for BRN 180gr spz. But I didn't see any retailers that have it, that's why I' asker if anyone have seen it somewhere. I doubt that this would not be the ideal bullet for this caliber, but sometimes being marginal give some good experiments.
I think I'll go ahead with the 165gr, i think i saw it somewhere... Nosler i guess... I have to search back.

I found this on the Woodleigh web site with their 270 Win 180 grain data, looks like they might stabilize if you are lucky.

This bullet just stabilises with a standard 10” twist. Some rifles shoot quite accurately with this bullet. Rifles with a barrel twist faster than 1 in 10” are fine.

Barnes used to make a 180/.270, as well as a 250/.308, and lots of other oddball sizes until they decided to lead the charge on the high-tec front with the X-bullets, and discontinued most of their conventional line.

Hawk bullets still lists a 180, and they used to ship to Canada, but with all the homeland security crap going on down there, I'm not sure they still do.
