Has anyone taken advantage of the Mosin-Nagant & 1000 rounds of ammo combo from CanadaAmmo?

just wondering what shape the rifles are in.
I've been on the fence about buying a Mosin and have some X-Mas money to spend.
If they're in reasonably decent condition, I will be ordering one.

Thanks in advance.

Let us know if you do, I've been debating it as well. I have 500 rounds of that ammo and I works great in my svt, I'd like to pick up a 91/30 and would be like killing two birds with one stone. Another red rifle and more ammo, win win.

I got a beautiful 1939 all matching serial # mosin and I was so happy and impressed with the quality that I am selling my old mosin 1942 all matching serials. This one even the bayonet is matching. The finnish is really nice too and it hits paper at 200m... Super impressed and with the ammo... CRAZY deal. Get one. But again, its random draw so you might not be as lucky as me. I could sell you my other one if you wanted haha.

Well, just placed the order.
Hopefully it's not a crap-shoot and I get a rifle with a decent bore. Not too concerned about the appearance, but nicer is better (obviously)

Well, according to the email that I received, it was shipped on Jan 09 (1 week after ordering). Canpar tracking system has "no tracking information available for this barcode" as of this morning
I guess I wait!

UPDATE:

Packages are in town for pickup.
I'll get it tomorrow and hope it's a beauty.

ps: Thanks Canadaammo for sending me the correct tracking numbers for the packages! (got an email this afternoon with the correct numbers)

DO NOT want to rain on your parade but you do know that you don't really have an all matching serial # Mosin right ??

I sure thought I did when I got my first Mosin Nagant from Wolverine almost 2 years ago.

What we get are "force matched" Mosins made up from different parts thrown together during the refurbishing process ALL Mosins went through before they were stored "long term" by Ivan and his Soviet friiends.

Then you begin a quest to replace the NOS parts with parts that have the correct arsenal stamp.

I will be installing a correct (early) 1 piece interrupter / ejector with the correct Izhevsk Imperial Bow & Arrow arsenal stamp into my 1928 ex-dragoon tonight!

I choose to believe

Hey guys I am interested too .. can you guys post some pictures for all of on the fence guys ?

OK, get off the fence and order one!

Picked up the rifle this morning. They didn't have the crate of ammo there. (called me about 45 minutes after I got home with the rifle..........ammo's in).
Anyway.............I got a 1942 Izhevsk. The receiver stamping is a bit faint, but can make out the date and Izhevsk stamp. Any parts that I checked really closely had the Izhevsk stamp. Trigger guard/magazine assembly is lined-out and restamped with serial number. I think the trigger guard assembly is a Tula (star stamp by front guard screw).
The bayonet serial # matches the rifle and goes on and off easily.
The wood is in nice shape, no big dents or gouges. Shellac all over the metal parts (scraped off easily with my thumbnail).
I shot some brake cleaner down the bore and have the bore full of Wipeout right now. I'll let you know how it turns out, but it looked pretty good already. Strong rifling and just a tiny, tiny hint of frost in the bore. I may spend some time doing the bore with some JB Borebright, just have to see.

So, if you were thinking about getting one, I'd say "go for it"

Almost forgot, I got 2 pads of targets and the usual M-16 teeny pen in the shipping box.

Here are some pictures. I took them as soon as the rifle was out of the box. Before cleaning.

Oh, she's a nice one... with the typical "rough" war-time receiver.

This rifle will provide hours of entertainment.

I have one Mosin for plinking and one for hunting. Man, those deer steaks are awesome !!
