M&p vtac

To answer Vengeance's question, I have seen VTACs at Calgary Shooting Centre in recent weeks. I am pretty sure that had them in both 9 mm and .40.

Just my experience, stick with the regular one and have it painted. I bought into the koolaid and the sights were replaced with Triji HDs in the end and the magwell is tight especially when warm. Had issues with mags binding.

In hindsight I wished I had gone with a regular one.

I have a bone stock vtac .40. It is absolutely my favorite gun. About 2k of .40 and 200 9mm through it (with a 9'm barrell and mags). Never had a problem with the sights or mags dropping free.

Is the finish not so great? Is that why you said to have a regular one painted?

I have read the "thread". I am still intrigued by this configuration with those sights lol. Maybe I am a glutton for punishment

I personally like the VTAC sights. I had a pair I got from Milarm on thier 50% off boxing day sale. Got them put on my M&P9 range kit I own. The sights are regularly $330!

I know Tim from MAC on youtube was very disappointed in the wear the finish took on the VTAC model. I intend to do my M&P9 up all the way to 100% lol, so all the mods then time to Cerakote. Next on the list is Apex FSS. Then slide milling by Dlask to get rid of warning labels, add forward serrations, mill a spot in front of the rear sight for an RMR, and mill ports in the front of the slide as well as port the barrel. Then its time to break out the airbrush!

Hope to get it close to this, with the added slide mods and RMR

Wow... that's a cool look to it!

Doesn't look like any old generic flat black "handgun"... it actually looks like artwork. Industrial art... but still art!

Why not just buy the new factory ported CORE Competition Model - all of the slide work is already done, then just get it coated.
