Finally got a chance to get out again. Almost wished I would of stayed home, almost. :p

To sum it up. I broke my D ring for my boot laces first thing in the morning (that should of told me to stay home right there lol), spilt apple cider on myself TWICE in a row, hurt my left knee, decided to walk the hill to stay out of the wind so I was super bagged at the end of the day and I missed a easy shot on a point blank coyote.

But I did end up stalking and than squeaking in a little young one after a morning of not seeing or hearing anything out there.

I decided to walk up and down the hills of the north side of the valley to get out of the wind, I would stop about every second hill for a couple minutes to check out if anything was moving about. I caught this guy on top of the ridge coming over from another small valley that runs parallel with this one. Hes lookin around then starts his way down about 200yds in front of me. I see him start his was down a draw so I decide to use my lil hand squeaker. Well it worked like a charm as he popped up on the next ridge in front of me, approx 50yds.

You cant see it but the 243 did a number on this lil guy. Frontal shot came out his left shoulder and most of the way down its back. Atleast I didnt have to carry this guy out, heh.

Great views to you have there and targets while not overly abundant do avail themselves to you too.
What are you wearing for footwear... Sorrels??
Thanks once again for taking the time to share with the rest of the community.

Hey thanks for the kind words.

Theres abunch of coyotes here in this valley, they must of been laying low that day I was out or somewhere else at the time. No worries Im going back tomorrow for some.

For winter boots Im using CF issue, moreless like sorrels. Ive always liked em.

Nice view, nice gun, good exercise, nice shooting!

I think those 4 outweigh your troubles from the day.

I agree that overall it was a good day.

I walked in a couple km's and before I turned back I sat (had some apple cider) on a ridge for approx a hour and watched a mulley buck with 8 does hanging/eating out in the low ground.

He still had his antlers on, shouldnt they have fallin off already?
