K31

#### me thanks for all the info guys, I'm going to look for one. I'm still a huge noob, anyone want to recommend a low cost scope that they use on theirs?

I would give 'low cost scope' a wide berth - the K31 is, uh, unkind, to cheap scopes. Figure on forking out at least $150.00 on something that will withstand the unfriendliness of GP11.

If you put a scope on the K31 be careful to not mount on the radius and be aware that a 4x is about the same as irons relatively speaking. Also be sure to mount against the end of the dovetail mount so it can't walk off the base.

Thanks tac, I'd be willing to put maybe 400 into a scope if that helps. I'll try doing some research of my own too.
Appreciate all the help

I put a 4 X14 Nikon scope on my K31, using the excellent Swiss Products side mount. I added the Swiss Products muzzle brake too, and really noticed a reduction in recoil. It's not much more than my Swede M96 for recoil now. Haven't tried more than 100 meters, but it shoots under 1"with GP11. Wear good hearing protection if you brake the gun. It makes quite a bang.

I've been abstaining from posting MY K31 but I guess I will. These potato cell pictures do not do it justice. But what the hell.

Just making an assumption but I wonder if it is THIS Pius Segmuller Just so happened to be commander of the Swiss Guard in the Vatican City (1998-2002). Wouldn't THAT be interesting.
(ABK/POM) is Polizeiobermeister. SO, was this presented to a Police sergeant from Pius the same year he moved to Commander of the Vatican Guard? Was it presented to Pius? I don't know... Interesting either way.

Before you ask, there is nothing under the butt plate.

Should post this on Swissriflemessageboards.com

I just bought one at wholesale sports for $299, I'm a relative gun noob but the sales clerk let me look through a couple and I picked out a half decent one.
Here she is.

Apologies for poor quality, cell phone camera scratched up in my pocket at work (welder)

I picked one up at WSS today, I'm pretty happy for $300. Stock is dinged up but not bad. All the metal parts are mint, all matching serials and I had one of the paper slips under the butt plate.

4x=irons relatively speaking?

Please elaborate on your comment " a 4x is about the same as irons relatively speaking", Thanks

Ok, time to uncloak and contribute something. I've been lurking around the milsurp forums for a while now and was watching this particular thread with great interest since it popped up. I saw CSC's Facebook post about bringing in some K31's on Thursday night and I headed down there on Friday afternoon. This is what I came home with:

I love this gun...
