Just to update..I was speaking with Ammosupply & they no longer have a supplier for HSM Ammo..they are currently looking for new supplier, and will be few months before any HSM is available from them.

Interesting news ... thank you. It makes me particularly happy to know that I made a day-long round-trip to Calgary in December, and apparently got one of the last few boxes. Them cartridges are now gonna be as rare and valued as Brenneke slugs. I gave my landlord eight for Christmas (and he better appreciate them even more now), so that leaves me with 42 remaining. Should be a lifetime supply ... :)

I just sold 6 boxes to a local guy for 200 bux lol.

I use the HSM 45-70 430 grain hard cast lead "Bear Load" in my Miroku Winchester 1886 Extra Light rifle but have never had the opportunity to use the HSM 44 Mag stuff in my 44 Mag Rossi 92.
Bought 20 boxes of the 45-70 ammo from Cabelas.ca in Winnipeg back when it was $28 per box.
If their 44 Mag ammo is as good as their 45-70 ammo it should be pretty good.
The HSM ammo is very accurate in my 1886 EL.

??

Ammo Supply was selling them for $65 / box ... which I was happy to pay.

So, three questions come to mind. Why sell them at that price? Why is he buying that many?

The third question? Go figure. I would not have bragged about it.

I sold my .44 and didnt need the ammo, wanted to sell it but didnt want to have to ship it, so i put the price low so i could entice a local to buy it, which worked. I also could afford it so i wasnt too worried about taking the loss. He purchased all cause it was a good deal and he uses 44 in his ranch hand. I think it was 250 bux actually, still a good deal.

As well i wasnt bragging about it, i was surprised that the stuff was that rare as i got half of my supply at the local gun shop which usually has nothing.

Thanks. I appreciate the prompt reply.

As you might have noticed, I was a little peeved that somebody (on CGN ... which is mostly about helping and sharing) seemed to be swooping down and apparently scooping-up about five lifetimes' supply of a super-rare Holy Grail supply of cartridges ... after I had left my comfy Crowsnest hills and negotiated Calgary traffic (at great personal risk to myself and others) to buy just one box ... intentionally leaving the last eight or so boxes for others who follow these threads.

I could have bought them all.
