I've had different Ruger models and had two S&W-s besides my previous Buck Mark. Finally, I've decided to keep only one, the Browning. I like the design and IMO, it has the best trigger of all.
Smith & Wesson Model 41 or 46, You can even get it with a 7 inch barrel for the metallic silhouette. Its all steel, very accurate, and has a very natural grip angle.
I opted for a s&w 41. The browning buckmark udx would be my second choice. It has an aluminum frame, which I would prefer over polymer. The grip on the mark 3 doesn't really appeal to me either but you can get other grips for reasonably cheap. The 22/45 is a polymer frame but you can get the rp model to put on different 1911 grips.
If you want accurate these would be the ones to look at
Depending on your budget these would also be good options, although more specialized. I've shot the 41 and the Walther GSP. Both are excellent. What's your budget?
