Smokin deals on Grand Power 9mm's/.22's and range reports

Also deleted were my replies to assorted product questions on the Dominion Outdoors page in his thread about the Grand Power guns for sale at his shop.

I asked in Dominion's thread about a 380 version and you answered. Not a clue who you are or affiliated with (I could guess) but those posts disappeared.

My question is left there unanswered. Not looking to step on toes but it's not that big of a deal to me, I just wasn't aware of what was going on.

I remember when the owner of Grand Power used to drop by for friendly chats around here.
Way to busy now no doubt but a shame that gunnutz will have to dig deeper or go elsewhere for inside information from the firearms companies and their reps.
I hope your feeling better Canuck.

Got a quick reply back from Mark at Trigger. He confirms what BBB has said about export permits and such and also provided an email for Grand Power related questions.
Looks promising at this point!

Parts & Magazines:
-Grand Power has acknowledged receipt of our import paperwork (parts, magazines and 13 FRT approved new models) and filed it with their government. We will have more magazines available in a few weeks once the obtain their export permit. The guns are selling better than anticipated and are listed at 40+ retailers across Canada and at 14 ranges across the country were you can test drive the products before buying.

I will put an update on my Facebook page as well!

think you need to do some modifications for the 75 mags to work. you were able to ask canuck223.. but i guess you need to pay hundreds of $$ a month to answer questions here...

They look the same to me.(just got a 4 pack from Corwin) The cutout at the rear of the top of the mag is not as pronounced on Corwin's mags but that is easy to grind out a bit if it's an issue.
Squaring the hole with a small specialty file and getting the location correct is the only challenge. Worst case if you mess one up the mags will still be fine in a CZ.
I've got a few CZ mags kicking around just need to find the right file and then make a basic template from a GP mag.

Some sort of square punch tool would be ideal but likely not cost efficient.

I modified a pair of Tanfoglio mags in December. Drilling was nearly impossible, I used my dremel to grind out a long hole and grind down a bit of the top of the mag. Go slow is good advice. The ones I did worked 100% so far. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I see Walstalls has the GP line in.....prices are...uhhh....well, take a look lol
Looks like about a 30%-50% increase over Dlask pre-blowout prices.

Weak CDN dollar probably has something to do with it. Expect that for all new stock this year for the majority of firearms.

that is the new norm for them. Another CGN sponser is carrying the line too and have taken heat from the prices.
The Dlask blowouts were just that - blowouts. Early bird gets the worm, snooze you lose, insert other fitting line here.
I predict the same thing will happen with the SAM pistols.
I am glad I pounced on the GP and its going to be my go to for a long long while. well worth the new prices, but was a steal at the blowout

I was not even considering the blow out prices, just the standard prices Dlask had prior to that. With the blow out prices the new batch is 100%+ more.
If GP was pissed that Dlask wasn't moving enough product at much lower prices, how well do you think they will move at a 50% price hike?
I just see the cycle continuing, these will sit on shelves, the Canadian distributor will be blamed yet again for the guns not selling, and we will have a new distributor next year again.

I'm thinking the same thing. If a K100 didn't sell at 549 how is it going to move big numbers at 669?

I'm glad i bought mine at $399 :d

got to remember, dlask prices were straight from the distributor prices so that is one level of markup less than the current stock. Good for Dlask but bad for the line as a whole because the whole time dlask was the only person selling the pistols with little to no other dealers even bothering because dlask could always have a cheaper price than them. Also as mentioned the canadian dollar sucking doesnt help prices, and the fact that dlask pistols came with the bare bones kit vs the new batches that come with more back straps ect.

I quite like the grand power pistols and when the p40L shows up (which dlask wasnt going to bring in but trigger is) I may have to pick one up for USPSA

$729 for the Xtrim .22....judging by the issues with these pistols we saw in this thread, there will be some unhappy campers if they shell out that kind of coin.
Even the base model is $499, which prices it well above other .22's that work like the GSG ($350) or M&P22($400) and of course the Rugers ($400).
I dunno, I certainly don't see these as premium pistols that can demand premium prices.

The newer series of K22 X-Trim has a lighter slide, and I believe people are having good luck with a wider variety of ammo. Mine's been working great with CCI Mini-Mags and Blazer, and I have the slide out for some mod's to lighten it. See if I can get it to cycle American Eagle 40gr RN reliably as I have quite a bit of that stocked up.

I don't see how we can attribute the big price increase in Grand Power's to the Canadian dollar. Our dollar is actually up against the Euro since this time last year.
