Hi guys. I acquired a rem 700 bdl on the ee recently. It is in .17 rem. Accurate! Really impressed with it. One problem though, is that it will not feed a round from the right side of magazine. It is a hinged floor plate model. I'm using it as a 2 shot as it will double feed or 'flick' the rounds from right side of stack in magazine straight up (standing on bullet tip). Any remedies? Also, should I contact seller as this was not disclosed. Thanks.

Possibly the magazine box is slightly compressed and not allowing the shells to spread enough to catch the bottom of the action properly...

Take it apart and make sure the box is a wide as possible when seated into the bottom of the action... and make sure it stays there on assembly..

Then let us know...

Trying Dennis. It keeps persisting. If I load 4 shells in mag. 1 feeds fine, 2 flicks out, 3 and 4 feed fine.
If I stuff 5 in there, 1 flicks out, 2 feeds, 3 flicks out, 4,5 feed fine.
It flicks up when shell is pushed approximately 1/8-1/4" ahead then kind of jumps up. If all that makes sense.

Probably just a minor adjustment to the feed lips needed. I personally would not bother contacting the seller. The rifle shoots great just needs a little tweak to feed right. Nothing to get your panties in a knot over.

I bedded a rifle and it started to do this, I'm also curious to know what steps I should start with to save myself the most time. I haven't had the time to take the stock off to look at the magazine and magazine spring. Mine is a blind mag. I was going to make sure the mag well is seated squarely and then maybe try and compress the follower spring so there's not as much pressure, if all else fails just take the dremel tool and start taking the bedding out bit by bit until it works and or take it all out and re-bed it. But if you guys have any other specific areas to check out first thatd save me a lot of time and headache

There are no 'feed lips' that you can adjust.

If the box magazine is sitting as wide as possible in the action, then the follower is the next thing... I would contact the seller and ask him if he was having problems and are the parts original to this rifle.

The shell that flicks out needs to be able to sit more to the side where it contacts the bottom of the action...

The box mag is bent in at the top to hold the cartridges from popping out. Those are the feed lips.

Edit: My memory has failed me, I just had a look at mine and the box mag is straight. The feed lips are actually the bottom of the action so not adjustable.

A fellow member pm'd me a fix to try and that didn't work. I've tried the recommendations here and still no joy. The previous owner got back to me with it fired fine with the original stock and never fired it with the new stock... Gonna look again tomorrow with fresh eyes.

I did not realize this was in a new stock...

Assemble the metal without any stock... get the box seated where it is needed... snug up the screws lightly getting it all lined up... test the feeding... if it feeds fine without the stock you know where the problem lies.

Sorry for the delay. Assembled magazine without stock and its acting the same. There is no way that this is a stock issue. Tired of pissing around with it to be honest. I spread the magazine as far as possible allowing it to fit. The case jumps with a good amount of authority.
