Not a coyote but

I have only ever seen one and it was only about 1/3 the size of that monster. It was hissing or something at us and starred us down. We moved on quickly, but not running. I don't need to see another live one!

a nice animal . i am thinking fur prices will take a tumble this year as the Russians are out of the market with trade restrictions and the Chinese economy is backing up . these were the two main buyers at the fur sales .

are they dangerous?
will they attack you?

They say that back in frontier times Wolverines were more feared than bears, they would raid your cabin and commit all sorts of anti-social behavior, if you shot and missed with your muzzle-loader you could be in real trouble.

Some of the young folks have not got the message though:

Awesome! i wish I had trouble with those on my line

No, not really, you don't. They will dig-up and destroy more habitat than you thought possible in their pursuit of something to kill.

I've twice had the opportunity to observe a wolverine on open high mountain ridges during sheep hunts. Without a doubt the toughest animal I've ever watched. Grizzleys are stronger, I've watched them roll some very large rocks trying to dig a marmot out of a cliff side but nothing compares to the amount of work a wolverine will do to dig out a tika or marmot.

I was having lunch one day while a bunch of yews and lambs fed 100 yrds away at the same time, they were aware of me but paid no attention. A wolverine showed up on a ridge about 3/4 of a mile away, the old lead yew spotted him immediately and they left in the opposite direction on the run. They wanted no part of being on the same mountain as it was.

He certainly is a big Lad.Watched a show one time there was Wolves feeding on Moose carcass and the Wolverine moved in and after a tussle with the Wolves he grabbed one by the jaw and would not let go.The Wolverine ended up getting the carcass. We do not have them down east were still trying to get a look at the elusive eastern Cougar.

They are a furbearer and as my son was not hunting but on his RTL with a licence he is allowed to shoot them as well as fox, wolf or any other furbearer on his line.

Wow very nice.

Dont think I would like to cross paths with that guy. I guess if you dont piss it off or corner it, you should be alright though. dunno

Was there not a documentary awhile back where a guy was rescuing orphaned wolverine cubs and they appear to be social in the family group setting.
Anyways, I would rather see them in the wild or mounted on the wall myself.
