My daughter and I were at the indoor range in Fredericton for a couple of hours today. We had the place to ourselves and there were two RO's there. One was Bob Kierstead the (former? current?) head coach of both the Canadian Olympic Shooting Team and the Para Olympic team.

I ended up getting about an hour of one on one coaching in handgun technique. It was pretty amazing. I think I learned more in that hour than I have in the last 7 months.

Sure did! He's a very nice guy with a great coaching style. It's easy to see why he went as far as he did.

Did you know that the Russian team practises dry fire exercises 30 minutes every day?

Awesome! I wish he would give lessons!

$25 hourly per lane. They have a website with all the info if you want to google them.

FWIW I think they are providing a real service to our sport. Non shooters can book time and shoot under the supervision of an RO using guns and ammo provided. It's a great way to get people interested.

I hadn't shot in 20+ years and hadn't handled a handgun since I was in the reserves in the 70's when I went up there last winter for something to do with my daughter. Now,12 months later, I have my RPAL, own a growing collection of firearms, belong to two clubs and shoot 1-2x a week
