i have heard of some members having paint chip issue with their m84 but has anyone had something to this extent ?

I was putting a clamp rail on my scorpion recently and I wanted to protect it from scratches so I put electrical tape but when I removed the tape, it peeled off a bunch of paint .

I bought the it 2.5 years ago and only took it to the range once and fired 20 rds.

Thats a bummer.. with all the different coatings on newer factory guns as well as coatings by independent companies, I sure wish someone would step up to the plate and offer professional hot blueing.

From my handling of the skorpion, the finish feels like an automotive paint. Like many finishes that are applied too heavily, never last on the portions that see a lot of contact. Seeing as bottles of spray paint are cheap at a local Canadian Tire, I would strip the finish on the frame, clean it thoroughly, and refinish/bake it on.

A couple thin coats, and you should be laughing. It can't be worse than what is currently being exposed/happening...

2.5 years and only 20 rounds holy smokes!
If I was worried about the finish on mine I would definetly just redo it, appearantly military didn't care if it came off, judging by quality if you look on marstars site for the deactivated vz61's the finish looks severely worn.

Only issue I had with mine was that I tossed the mags in an ultrasonic cleaner and it removed the grease and paint. Worked out well because I just lightly/crudely cold blued them and they look (to me) nicer than before.

hey b , while waiting for someone to come up with a mount that attaches in front of the receiver hinge , I been trying to come up with a cheap option to adapt a 30mm scope rail to the front part of the receiver , I haven't quite worked out the bugs yet. stay tune.

Also, what rail is this you speak of??

lol, I been traveling . I got couple of smg I haven't fired yet .
