Has anyone had issues with the vz58 sporter and the nea upper guard?

It seems as though it's too tight and won't go on without a lot of persuasion

Are these supposed to come fitted or is smithing expected? Wondering if it is common or if the sporter changed and the nea guard didnt

Mine took a lot of fitting for my CSA VZ58 in 7.62x39, go slow and remove some material test, repeat.

Thanks, I use oil and worked it on and off about 10 times and the aluminum has fitted itself to the gun

The take down pin still feels tight however - seems the rail is going to come at the cost of the nice fit and finish the stock handguard gives

Just about to order the upper NEA rail. With such a tight fit; did it remove some of the finish on the gun or were you able to avoid that?
I guess the other option would be sanding the rail carefully.

Mine is very tight. And I have removed the set screws. My red-dot holds zero after everytime I remove the cover and replace it. It has loosened up a bit. If my red-dot doesn't hold zero, I will use the screws to make sure it won't move.

I really like it because it's the only rail that co-witnesses the sights. Fun times.

I just installed mine and used alot "super lube" grease and it went on no problem. Had to use a small mallet to lightly pound in the cross pin. I loosen the screw hold the spring and ball bearing and almost lost the tiny bearing, so be warned. Mine didn't come with any accessories like set screws or a Allen wrench. Including the set screws and a extra ball bearing would be nice. Attached a Vortex Sparc II on the rail.
