My shooter SVT-40 project, purest be warned.

Nothing wrong with that. That things a beauty. I too have tried a plastic stock on an SKS. It took me firing 3 rounds to decide I don't like it and switched back to original. I think you're onto something you could make money off of.

Very nice.
If someone was to Build just stocks i think they could make alot of $ doing it.

Do some nice dragnov style SVT stocks in different wood types (Birch , Walnut , Oak ect).
Do the same with M14 Stocks in Regular and E2 USGI , except offer top slotted hand-guards that match out of the same piece of wood.

People will pay very good $ for stuff like this.

and if you have all the tooling and develop a process to do it you could likely pump out at-least Raw unfinished stocks quite quickly.

It would definitely fill a niche in the market.

The only other place i know that was doing similar projects closed its doors.

Leonard, can I hold you to that!!....Equipment just arrived, last piece ...the duplicated :) ,just landed on Friday, so should be up and running in a month...or so.

I hope so, cluster headaches put me out of work, some cash flow would be welcome for sure. This is something I therely enjoy building, and would be thrilled if I can make this happen. I need a lucky break. :)

No one else has an aftermarket stock for the SVT-40. Your stock is classy. It looks like it was meant to be like that. I wish you the best of luck if you do and when you do, be sure to PM me because I want one.

Wow, that is a great looking SVT. I love shooting the SVT, the only thing I don't like about them is the shortage of parts and accessories... I would definitely be in for buying one of these stocks!

Is it possible to mount the scope base to the stock and bed the stock such that one can get reasonable accuracy/zero-stability, acknowledging that this configuration and my rifle are not likely to have better than fair to decent DMR or general-hunting-rifle accuracy? I'm intrigued, but I'd prefer to avoid permanent alterations to the rifle and original major components. Tri-focals and iron sights are becoming challenging.

Beautiful rifle, by the way.

I highly doubt it, the stock flexes vertically in a shock wave motion when the gun is recoiling, youd literally have glue the receiver permanently to the stock to have a chance in reducing this. Plus the stocks are only made from soft pine. I couldn't see how you could bolt a mount to the wood that wouldn't tear out from the 54r's recoil.
