I seem to be developing an affection for S&W revolvers lately. (last year it was Browning Hi-Powers...I'm fickle )

I was just wondering if there was any one dealer in Canada that was the "go to" guy for this brand? Epps seems to list a lot but not much variety. Shooter'ss Choice shows some interesting stuff but most has been showing "sold out" for 6 months plus.

I would buy one in person as some guns have minor cosmetic QC issues. Most gun shops carry them, what model are you looking for?

I'd keep an eye on the EE, they appear semi-regularly. Also, older ones have often a reputation for higher quality and attention to details.

Yep, My 586 is an '83 and my K-38 is 1956. I'm definitely interested in "older"

I'm thinking a M-27 N frame might be next but that is not carved in stone.

The K-38 is a beauty. I shoot the K-38 combat masterpiece (4 inch model 15-2) and the fit and finish are impeccable.

Unfortunately, S&W is producing a fairly narrow range of products that are commonly available for the Canadian market right now. They make a whole whack of stuff but our barrel length restrictions means we won't see much of it, and the stuff they do ship up here is kind of old hat. L-frames for days and 629s. Occasionally Performance Centre stuff pops up in little batches.

I love S&W revolvers and have basically accepted that fact that I'm only going to be looking at used guns for the forseeable future. Trawl the EE, auctions and the used sections of websites that actually maintain an online inventory and you'll see most stuff you want and is legal in Canada pop up eventually, but then the question is how long you're willing to wait and how much you're willing to pay.

The bug has bit, now you're in trouble! Current count is 12 S&W revolvers, from .22 to .44, and a 645 semi in .45 ACP. The majority of them are 1980 and older, back to 1916.
