Bfg vcas-nsn *cc & rcmp vcas?

I ask because I scored two of them for a very good price. One for the M4 and one for the M16 (comes with butt-stock adapter and front sling loop)

The M16 set-up works great on my Vz58

Blue Force does list them on their website - so presumably they should be available on the civvy market. I've got one of each as well. Bought the M4 one for about $30 and the M16a4 one (with the attached BFG front picatinny sling loop) for about $8 more...

Probably the same guy I got them from. $90 CDN shipped for both is what I payed.

I like these way better then the standard VCAS that I have. The attachment buckles are self tightening and the quick release is a neat feature. At first I didn't think much of it but, after using it I see a benefit.

Yup, definitely NSN numbered with acetal hardware. As BeaverMeat mentioned, if you look at the BFG site, they actually show it with acetal hardware. If they ever were metal, that is probably an older iteration of the sling...

The standard has VCAS used triglides to attach the sling

And the NSN version uses a double loop system to attach the sling. It also comes with an emergency release buckle and strap.

And the fact that it has an NSN number attached to it so it's much cooler... Lol!

In all seriousness though, I think it's probably just the configuration that was chosen for general issue to US forces (Marines IIRC) and as such it has a designated number. Regardless, I (and I assume BeaverMeat) saw some BFG slings at a great price and snapped them up...

Ya your right I did ask a Blue Force rep and he said the US military cheaped out and got the plastic buckles. He said it just came down to price point and they only wanted to pay X amount of dollars per unit.

I prefer the plastic hardware anyways. The metal slides are oversized and catch on clothing/gear. They are noisy and 'clang' against your rifle. That's why I'm looking to sell my coyote brown VCAS with metal hardware.

It's very durable plastic anyways good to -40. And I'm sure BFG uses UV resistant Acetal from Fastex/ITW

Although, I would like to get my hands on one of those premium aluminum hardware slings.
