Lars Andersen: A New Level of Archery

I think Lars is trying to be the Jerry Miculek of archery - excelling in practical archery and entertaining the crowds with trick shots. I don't know enough about the subject matter to say how successful he is, but he definitely has some skill. I'm sure some bullseye shooters had a few choice things to say about Jerry ;)

It is not impressive, it is incredibly stupid. It is not even lost info, it's stuff that's been around for years. Oh boy he can shoot stuff up close really fast, yeehaw. with almost zero accuracy. This has got to be one of the dumbest videos I've seen. A million takes to make the split arrow shot, yippee.

I watched it twice and didn't see him shooting with almost zero accuracy, perhaps you could highlight specific times for me. I would also love to see a video of yourself doing an impressive job of shooting a bow for us.

I think that Lars may perhaps have chosen the wrong words to describe what he's doing, but at the same time I have seen people on the other side of the planet debate the merits of one of their myths. In it, a legendary archer is forced to cut off his thumb, which means that another defeated him in a competition. The blog went on to discuss the idea that maybe there could be a revolutionary technique of using the first few fingers, rather than the thumb, to draw the bowstring. Dude honestly seemed to think that he might be the first person ever to analyze ancient secrets and come up with an alternate way of drawing the bow. Every so often people end up with tunnelvision on something.

Or maybe he's doing it for the lulz, nevertheless we have to give him credit for putting together something with mass appeal.
