Thinking I might have to get the rebuild kit for my gsg, starting to get lots of light primer strikes and ftextract (no stovepipes).
Anybody replace their springs on theirs yet?how many rounds through it?
And since this cgn and I know the next couple responses

Yes the gun is clean
No its not mag related
Yup does it with all ammo
The firing pin isnt broken and the channel is clean.

Educated guess, 7500-10,000

it would make sense to do the rebuild, that's a substancial amount of ammo through it and you are getting failures in more than one area, mines not at this point yet but I am sure wont be much longer, sorry I don't have much more to add

if you don't already have it, get the ZRTS ultimate kit. Its more than just a few springs, so its not super cheap($90 or so), but it also does more for the pistol than just put it back to new. It will be better than new in reliability and accuracy, and it will shoot cheap ammo well now too. its a new guide rod, bushing, spring and some other stuff. Plus you won't have to play with that small screw on the side each time you take it down.

When my pistol was stock, it was quite good, maybe one or two issues in 100 rounds, rapid fire, slow fire etc. Now I can load up all 8 mags and blaze away as fast as I can and it never skips a beat. even with Winchester 555 bulk crappy ammo. Hell I can mix ammo types in the same mag and its super reliable. Group sizes have dropped too, as the barrel/bushing fit is tighter.

I keep looking at them and keep talking myself out of it.

I have about 13k of rounds through mine. No issues except for the break in period. I am however looks at getting the bushing, and guide rod kit for it. I use the Remington bucket of bullets in mine.

My firing pin broke around the 5K mark so I ordered the parts kit that includes the firing pin and then went all in and bought the ultimate ZRTS kit. Put it all together and works fine but kind of wish I hadn't done the upgrade on such and old scarred up gun. Oh well, we will see how it shoots in the spring.

Boys...that is not a lot of ammo. Any gun worth its salt should easily do 15~20k without needing major repairs. Properly cared for - your grandchildren should be able to shoot these guns when you are dead and gone and just an unpleasant memory for them...:)

I would have the smith take a gander at it. A lot of guns out there tend to have common problems and these guys will often see problems you won't.

same ammo I use in mine, it doesn't skip a beat, the yellow jackets run very, very well in mine as well however they are a little more expensive but they are similar to the stingers in velocity making them more fun to shoot and shells fly out when ejected. the kit sounds like a good plan, mine wont run the win crap 555, 333, 222 at all, fail to eject, stovepipe, fail to feed you name it.
