My new Marlin336C

I have it sighted in for 50 yards as my bush gun. That makes it +- 1" or so from 25-100yards if you can see the diff on the irons at the longer range anyways.

Now show me 5 pop cans at 100 yards that you can hit. So far, no so impressed. I'm a little old, if the rifle can hit 5 apples at fifty yards it was good enough for a deer at 100 yd. If you wanted that rifle to be a 200 yard gun, you have to be able to hit 5 apples at 100 yards in a row. Each shot has to count. So far you have shown the rifle to be able to shoot within 100 yards. Time to push it to the max. Bit cold for this kind of stuff, but you have months to try. Replace the lever with a larger large loop lever so you can have gloves on while shooting. Looks like a gun you can improve on and make one heck of a gun out of. I'd be thinking on replacing the sights as well. Slick the action. All of a sudden you have a nail driver 30-30 good for up to 225 yards. Have fun with it, but your rifle looks like it would be a great rifle to upgrade. If you get a chance, buy some 1x2" and shoot the sticks at 100 yards. Great practice for vertical shooting. Once you think you can shoot at distance, get some old javex or laundry jugs and shoot them at 200 yards.

Great commentary apple farmer:) 5 apples at 50 yards next time I'm out. Pop cans at 100... I might have a hard time seeing.
The bush we hunt you would never get a 100 years shot tho.
I'm considering getting a lyman peep on it just for quicker sight acquisition.
Off the bench I think I could do the pop cans tho.
Keep an eye on the post for some more pics next week hopefully
