Savage Axis .223 or Merkel SXS .375 H&H???

Did you do a knee? I'm getting set for the second one...
Removal of a cancerous prostate with other parts and accessories. My knees are still good. Still have all my hair, but teeth are getting thin. This aging thing has a downside. :)

I pray the 2nd knee goes well for you.

I see... you take care of yourself Paul... eventually we will all be a sack of random parts, some might even still be functioning... sending prayers your way for a full and complete recovery... we all need reminders to live in the moment and be fully present.

What was it Al Swearengen said... "Declining years spare us no ####ing indignity. "

Gosh darn I'm late to this one but in all seriousness it would be a dream to shoot a "buff" and it deserves a double rifle....like a Capstick book coming alive. I Also think that Merkel makes a fine gun....double trigger of course......wow wish it was in my budget.

Seriously? The .303 has killed more animals on this planet than God...that's what my Grandpa's cousin's girlfriend told me, so you know it's true! Just pick up an old Lee Enfield and you're good to go.
Oh yeah, and just use the iron sights...that's all a real hunter needs.

Co eto think of it oyt, I just picked up a 1903 Mmannlicher with the double set triggers and chambered in the uber awesome 6.5X54MS, I will loan it to you for your African trip, if guys like Bell could shoot a zillion tuskers with it I'm sure it will do just dandy for your cape Buff- just make sure to get Dale at Chinchaga to make you some 160 grain FMJ's for it.
Apparently, you need them for killing the real big stuff- oh, and it even has a peep sight so you will not be frowned down upon by the real men when you get there!

Read every Zane Grey, Max Brand and Louis L'Amour ever written... missed Deadwood... Al Swearengen has popped up in a number of novels though... with a slightly altered name.

I have the answer you sir need a 410 side by side ..slugs for the praire dogs and number 9 shot for the buff .you can blow the dogs up real good and blind the buff and ride him back to town ,should work out real nice ,Dutch
