Glock 17 or M&P 9?

Thanks for all the input guys... I think since my goal is a very basic hassle free collection consisting of 1 bolt action rifle, (Savage Axis .223) 1 shotgun, (Mossberg 500 JIC), 1 revolver (that's likely where I'm gonna splurge on a Smith & Wesson, makes sense as mentioned by another poster) 1 semi auto (.223 of some sort, gotta be NR) and one pistol, I think I will go with the Glock 17. The M&P did fit nicer in my hand but the Glock was far from terrible as well.

I tried to streamline my collection years ago. That turned into 16 handguns. Just give in and buy them all but if you must only have one I would trust my life to my glock 17 any day

The Gen 4 feels much better than the other Gen's.

Lol depending on how money goes that's definitely a possibility! Already own more gear than what I need as far as my other sports/hobbies go!

its too bad you cant test them out somewhere.
i have both the Glock 17 and the M&P and there is a big difference in how the guns feel when shooting.
the bore axis is totally different.
when i switch back and forth between the 2 at the range it totally messes me up.

and on a related side note, the semi 223 NR, look at the ruger mini 14, love mine.

I have both and enjoy both. I have yet to see any inheirent siuperiority in build and function between one or the other. The Glock is unuseable for me without a Hogue grip. The M&P has better egos andthe trigger breaks in just fine.

The M&P range kit is a smoking deal.

X2 My M&P is great just the way it is, but you hear so many people ##### so there must be something going on. Unless, these people are thinking that a handgun should have a glass trigger that breaks at 2 #'s with zero take-up ?? Try shooting my Milsurps, some that have up to 13 #'s of 80 grit feeling triggers and you will begin to appreciate what the handguns offer us. Yes some are better than others, but some people spend half the value of the gun trying to FIX it ? If it's that bad, sell it and move on, they shouldn't be that much of a hassle to shoot properly ! Again, love my smooth trigger . :)

My new M&P has a nice trigger out of box. No need for APEX anymore.

this is true. I can't shoot the other gens but I shoot the 4 extremely well.
The Gen 4 is 2mm smaller at the grip, which makes it a lot slimmer. With the Medium strap, it goes 2mm up making it like a gen3 grip angle, but still smaller overall!

If you only want one handgun, get a Walther PPQ in your choice of M1 with paddle mag release, or M2 with button mag release.

I was where you were a few months ago, choosing between those two brands and a few others. Then the guy at Epps put a Walther in my hands, and after doing more research it was a no-brainer.

It fit like a glove, has much better build quality than Glock or M&P, and has the best trigger in the category. Google it. You're welcome.

Ive owned and shot both. The only thing I like better about mp9 is it's more aesthetically pleasing. I couldn't shoot it near as well and didn't like the egg shaped grip.

The glock has a better trigger and reset, better grip and is more accurate in my books. Tighter tolarences as well.

Oh I thought about a Walther... it's the P99 that really caught my eye tho! Been told they're hard to get in Canada.

P99 doesn't have as good of a trigger as the PPQ. The build quality overall was great, but what I didn't like was how busy it was. I like simple, not all the levers and de-cocking type buttons that H&Ks have, or the P99 has. That's why I went with the PPQ.

Went with the Glock. Bought it today, hopefully complete the transfer this week. Put 50 rds thru it at The Shooting Centre. I feel like I could actually learn to shoot with this one!
