What RCBS is thinking

I have been using RCBS presses since 1994. I had single stage presses, progressive conversion kits, and finally the Pro 2000 Auto Indexing progressive with bunch of top and shell plates that I got 4 years ago.

Now they come up with two new progressive presses, 5 and 7 station. 5 station's msrp is $2 more compared to Pro 2000. They use different shell plates and top plates. They are all rated as 600 rounds per minute.

Why would they do that? I just don't get the logic...

Not to mention there all way over priced compared to other equal or IMO better progressive presses

They are probably trying to compete with Dillon, which they will ultimately fail at doing.

That makes a Dillon 1050 with bullet feeder & auto-drive look like a toy. Imagine reloading for the year in just one hour.

My mistake; I ment 600 rounds per HOUR... But you guys already figured that out...

WOW! Obviously they are motorized to be doing 10 rounds per second. There are some machine guns that can't fire that quickly...

I pretty much hold RCBS in high regard but when it comes to progressive presses they always seem to miss the mark; always the bridesmaid, never the bride...
Although it appears they are getting closer I'm thinking that by the time they get it right it will be twice the price of the competition or the competition will have moved on to better designs.

It's the same idea as publish or perish for a professor. Bring out new stuff regularly or risk losing market share. Kind of like to see a 600 RPM press.

I just watched a Shot Show video about the new RCBS 7 stage press. It has a bullet feeder, but no case feeder. (yet) They had a table to fill at the show so they brought out an unfinished product.

Maybe china had a lotta guy's with nothing to do so gave them a good rate to make them
