This European gun maker has been around for many years.

Yet I only see two dedicated LH models, both only in 22 LR. One can't even make do with many of their RH models due to the extreme cheek piece for rightys.

Kind of pathetic IMO.

Must be a very low percentage of left's vs right's in their opinion...?

The reason is that their major market is the USA and only 7% of shooters are left handed in the US... I ran into the same problem trying to get left handed golf components for my customers... 27% of Canadian golfers play left handed. Some suggest that hockey is the reason for this... who knows, but it sucks to be a lefty.

Here you go, business opportunity - custom LH cheek piece kits for Anschutz. Would you like invest in that?

Learning to shoot "right" is the easiest solution.
Once you've conquered this skill the door is wide open to shooting bliss with any off the shelf rifle.

Wrong sir.

I am right handed. But my left eye has dominance.
It can still be learned.... Or you could just close your left eye instead of shooting with both eyes open.
Is it ideal? No
Is it wrong? I guess that depends how you see the world.

hahaha.........you're funny!!

This was tried at PPCLI Battle School by one instructor and another foolish one in the Canadian Airborne Regiment.

And guess what?

Didn't work then either doctor.

Brutus , not trying to be an a s s here but why can't a left eye dominant person shoot a gun at a recreational level with the other eye or just lean the head a bit and use the left eye off the right shoulder?

Next time I'm at the range I'll give it a try off the left shoulder using my right eye with my left eye closed.

Another eye doctor on call. lol

Ifyour an eye doctor don't quit your day job... ;)
Specially not to try teaching or anything in the education fields....:)

If you can't explain why you can't shoot right don't sweat it... But if you can I'm all ears !

Can Down, read up a bit on bullseye pistol shooting friend.

A natural stance, with as little un-natural movement is very important for shooter comfort and reduced fatigue.

A pistol match that I shoot, runs into two and one half hours.

What you are suggesting is called cross dominance and is highly discouraged by experienced pistol shooters, because it induces increased undue stress on the human body.

With rifles I have tried this crazy position and it just gives me headaches and natural lineup is not even close. Recoil impulse is seemingly increased to me. Cheek weld becomes nose weld! Forget that!

Cheers

Makes sense, I forgot we were talking about target guns.... For competiton everything should be custom dialled for sure!

for how long? I know someone who damaged their dominant eye and eventually the other eye became their dominant one. This isn't something that would change in a matter of days or even months, it can take years and is well documented in cases where the dominant eye is damaged.

I'm left eye dominant and shoot right handed. I used to struggle with shooting when I was younger not knowing why but I think I read about this somewhere did the card test and viola. Once I knew what was going on it was a matter of a couple months of concentrating on technique, using an eye patch at first even and I don't even think about it now. You can train it away quite easily, with rifle shooting anyway.

I am right handed and was right eye dominant. An injury damaged the optic nerve for my right eye. There is NO WAY you can fix this issue. Surgery or training will not magically make your damaged eye your dominant eye again. Or even make a weak eye your dominant eye. And you can not train it away. If you can not see the target clearly with the right eye you will never shoot well, period.
