No4 Mk1, battle sight zero distance?

Hi CGN,

I just got myself a No4 Mk1, and I was wondering what the battle sight distance is for? I see that the ladder sight can go as low as 200 yards, but I have a feeling the large aperture is factory for a little higher than that.

Yeah, you'll be holding low a fair amount. You can also just get used to changing the way you hold the sight within the rear aperture. Hold under is just much easier once you get to know the rifle and your ammo/loads of choice.

my battle sight is actually marked on both apertures, 300/600 yards. If its original, aim low. If bubba'd, you can get various height front posts to tailor your zero to any range youd like

If you are using a standard 12 in target, aim point should be at 6 o'clock on the bottom circle.

Americans aim at the center of the bull. British aim at the 6 o'clock to hit the centre.

I always set mine up for a 6 o clock hold, lets me see what I am aiming at!
