I've never heard of such a thing before, but I saw one today.
The owner specifically asked I do not mention him by name, so dont ask!
He doesnt want to be hounded by other collectors, I suspect.
If anyone has any solid info (Ratnik???), lets hear it!

I realize now that as I was centred over the gun, the camera is looking a bit sideways at the baffles in this pic.
I should have stood directly over the brake and tilted the camera slightly right to capture the whole gun

No way on the 6 baffle, cut in half.
They are MUCH more tightly spaced.
I saw this thing in person today.
These are my own photos, I did not merely lift pics off the net.

No it is a 6 baffle with 3 spacers bars milled or cut out... or looks like to me. If this was done at the arsenal it might have been an experimental one testing using less ports, but from a modified 6 port making it 3 port. Then they settled on 2 port and continued production. But having no history of that particular firearm, just a guess.

I just looked at my 6 baffle, I could replicate the same thing... Someone got creative in a trench and cut a 6 to 3.... Or someone drank to much vodka and cut it...

I won't go off the photo and say it looks like it got cut without seeing it in person. However I like the theory of the soviets testing how many ports was better or even simpler to produce. Its just one extra thing that makes that rifle a little more interesting.

Lokks like sloppy arsenal or trench fun job, but you never know... indeed curio I would like to have in my collection. But I would not put a high price tag as all official data mention only 2 types of muzzle brake.
