Hi there,

All my Cobra Tripp mags will fall freely when empty in dry fire. During live fire if I run them dry without going to slide lock they stick a lot! It has been costly to me at a couple matches.

Anyone had this issue and corrected it?

Thanks!

Are the bullets coming forward and catching? May need to adjust the feed lips a bit
Edit: just reread, I had an issue with my metalforms followers catching

Check your slide stop. It may have to be relieved - slightly.

With a dummy round at home (or a live round at the range), cycle (or fire) a round and look inside the magwell and check for interference between the follower and the slide stop - or any other friction point.

Another thing to check: is it empty mags that are binding, or the last round in the mag? It may be time to check feed lip space and mag spring tension.

have you checked if your mag release re-engages the mag if you push hard?

I tried and it won't help no matter how hard I push. Thanks

Will try this!

Another check along this line is to remove the slide all together and re-install the slide stop. Then insert a mag with ammo in it and see if the bullets touch the slide stop. The ammo that the gun was originally set up with may not have the same OAL and bullet ogive that you're using and it definitely wasn't set up with Cobra mags.

Check that the follower is not going forward when the last round is chambered and partially coming out/forward of the mag thus causing the mag not to drop free.

Get some Wilson combat mags.

Have them. Great for my 45 but garbage for 9mm.

On way to range. Looks like it was geometry of slide stop. Banger it does look like the follower coming forward when last round is chambered is the culprit. Was hanging up on slide stop.

Thanks everyone!

So it was the slide stop for sure. Falling like butter now. Spend 100 rounds trying to get the worst mag of them all to stick and it wouldn't. Before happend 9 out of ten times with this mag.
