I've been looking at these pistols for years now, the design and the history has always fascinated me but the price....... anyway finally couldn't control myself. Haven't seen the pistol yet except in pictures but a buddy of mine has it and says it looks pretty decent for a 99 year old pistol.
Appears to be numbers matching except the mag and the barrel so I guess time will tell.Picture 064.jpgPicture 062.jpgPicture 063 (2).jpg

It's a DWM or DMW can't make out the fancy scroll work? For some reason most of the pictures he sent me will not download.

Thanks tech551,

When I look at the one picture it looks like it has a 50 on the slide instead of an 11 like all the other parts, I suspect the slide may not be original to the pistol. Looks like I may have bought a Franken Luger but as long as it shoots I can live with that!

I have a 1916 DWM as well with a different numbered slide. Mine is a really nice shooter but the sights make it a real challenge for any kind of decent accuracy. The front sight post is very narrow and the rear sight notch is very small. I guess the younger guys they were originally issued to had better eyes than mine. :)

I've always wanted one as well.

I've got one with an updated BBL, it was worth the money IMO.
Is that bbl more than 4", or are you lucky enough to have your Prohibited license?

Just talked to my buddy, it is all matching, the picture he sent has the slide locked back so the 11 isn't visible. Hope it's a shooter as I like to play with my toys. Sights will be an issue alright as I have troubles seing the BIG sights on my other pistols in the last couple years!

Very nice! My 1935 G-Code is my most prized firearm. I've only shot it a couple times so far with very light loads.

Enjoy it! Lugers really are works of art.

Sweet looking gun big brother, if only I would have bought a prohibited when I had the chance.

Yes, I was lucky to get in on the prohibs, gives quite a few more choices like the 2 1/2 inch S&W 686 I bought last year, sweet little gun and really accurate considering the front and rear sights are only about 5 inches or so apart!!

Very nice. I wish the barrel length laws weren't so ridiculous.

You would think they would encourage us to buy short barrels so we couldn't hit anything!!! That said I am always amazed at the accuracy of a 2 1/2 inch barrel at 25 yards, especially with me shooting it!!!
