I have been considering one of these bad boys... I really like the way it looks in the archangel stock. I hear the performance is similar to a decent 308 rifle?

I don't see as many people at the range with them, and I personally don't know anyone with one, although we all have an SKS of course.

What is the deal with the price differences on these... $170 - $300. I assume that is just the collecting factor with some years and places of production being more rare? Cheers!

The Mosin-Nagant rifle is a long action and the 7.62x54r spitzer is similar in performance to the .30-06 Springfield.

Price difference doesn't say anything about quality most of time and it may have to do with rarity or it may be entirely arbitrary. If you phone Corwin-Arms ask Martin for a rifle with a like new bore and you should be good to go. There is lots of information out there about accurizing the rifles and with enough work you may get it down to MOA or so.

Ya get a shooter with a good bore, shoot it a few times and then decide from there want you want to do regarding stocks/mods etc.

Just as an example Canada ammo has a mosin for $180, Crowin has one for $378... I have bought from both of these places... hummmmm must be a better one at Crowin I assume.

I just dont see wild swings in SKS prices. Crowin isnt the only sponsor with $400 mosins... just couldn't figure out why. I see Wanstals has a good combo deal as well.
