May consider leave the EE details after the deal?

Seems people tend to remove the EE post once the deal is done.

Would it be possible and reasonable to leave the post while just pre-fix SOLD. So later guys will be able to check what was going on and how the price trend presents.

Or, maybe limitted spaces on EE so deletion is encouraged.

It gets cluttered VERY fast if people aren't deleting sold threads quickly. That and they found against the number of threads you're allowed to list, so down they come!

I think this is good practice, it keeps people honest. I always leave my ads up for a week after the buyer has received the goods. This ensures what I sent was exactly as I advertised it. I try my best to provide full disclosure, sometimes a small imperfection is missed, but will still be visible in the posted pictures I provided with the ad.

I have only had one up and left it up with the prefix **sold** so others could see what it was and how much I sold it for. I am new(er) to buying and selling guns, and there are many threads on here about the EE and the whole SPF in lieu f the price etc. Most people say you should know the prices and therefore doesn't matter - but new people such as myself will never learn real-world pricing as everything is removed or edited. Therefore, you are left with the inflated priced gun threads that are bumped for months on end. There's no "one way is the right way", but if you can leave it for a while, why not help others?

The buyer could always just take a copy of your ad if they're worried about it. I change my ad's to be deleted once I've received the funds. The ad doesn't serve any purpose to stay up. Also, as Phat_Eagle pointed out...there'd be a lot of useless ads to comb through as well as blocking me from putting up others (if I had other things to sell).

I will leave my add up till the buyer / seller feedback is completed.

I don't remove the asking price details either.

once you change the WTS prefix to delete the EE Mods will remove the add fairly quickly.

I never understood why people remove the price when a deal is in the works. I get the SPF in the title so people know its probably not available, but why go through and replace all prices with SPF?

I do the same thing... I keep the ad and pictures up until the buyer gets what he bought. I also keep the price up but once i receive the funds i delete the price and mark it as sold. I feel it's a matter of privacy and respect between the buyer and i to keep the final selling price private. Not everybody wants to share with other's how much they paid for an item.

I just make my own archive.

Right click, click SAVE PAGE AS, pop it onto the HDD.

I even do it to yummies I cannot possibly afford, just to have a record of trends.

Takes space but DVDs are cheap now.

If you want to know what something is worth, post a thread asking for opinions.
For the most part you will have some solid advice within a day or two.

The only company that leaves the details of a sale on their web site is "Track of the Wolf", and you have to subscribe to their archives for access.

I am one of those who remove the price once the item is SPF. The sale price is between myself and the seller, and he may not want the world to know what he paid when he is showing it off in a week.

Trends are gained by constantly watching the EE. Don't worry about putting the wrong price in an ad you place. If you are way too high, you'll know because either someone will PM you to tell you, or else you will hear nothing from anybody. If you are way too low, the gun will sell in minutes, and there will be a happy buyer. Confirmation your price was too low will be when you see it on the EE again for much higher than you sold it for. Then you will be glad you removed the price right after you sold it.

Ain't that the truth!

This. You're not telling anyone anything about what you sold at, just what your asking price was. Leaving the asking price up is helpful for other sellers as to what the general market will bear, and does not compromise the details of the completed deal in any way.

It might be possible to setup anonymous archive folder to collect all dealt posts.

Once the SOLD is prefixed, bots will move the posts to that archive and delete the seller info to protect the privacy, and make the posts un-editable.
