I can't tell if my vz58 in .223 is FUBAR or not, it ejects the shells quite high. Any info on this ? I can't seem to find it

I really don't know. But my 7.62 throws cases about 7 to 10 feet to my right and towards the front. I believe this is normal. Not sure about 5.56.

some CSA vz58s came with an oversized gasport which causes what you describe. Not sure if it affected both 7.62 and .223. You should get it checked under warranty. Contact Movie Arms.

I have a 2014 CSA vz58 and it chucks surplus ammo at least 8 feet in the air. I think its pretty normal and the over gassing thing was just a problem with the older models

Mine seems to chuck the brass 15 ft up and 6 feet back and to the right

Will be located right here. The 13 in this picture means 2013.

brass flying very far, means over gas and your rifle needs warranty work! i have a '13 stamped and had that issue! it broke my striker and when i sent it in to movie arms they re ported my gas tube and now works fine! (plus they give me a free mag)! movie arms is in toronto, just contact them and get issue fixed!

Does this issue effect the 7.62 models? I've noticed that the Romanian surplus I shoot likes to fly far, comparable to how far most SKS's throw brass, only more vertical than any SKS I've seen. Probably a good 6-8 feet in the air.

^^^^^
Yes it does include 7.62x39 versions.
Mine ejects surplus pretty heavy aswell but mine isn't effected by the gas port holes.
Keep your eye on the bolt, striker
