So about 4 months ago I started to get bored with my Spikes 14.5" AR. It was still fun to shoot but I had just started getting into precision shooting and the idea of a tack driving AR got me all excited. Over the next few months I planned on upgrading the barrel, handguards, trigger, stock and optic.

So here's what I started with.

Completely stock Spikes 14.5" AR with a PEPR mount holding a Hilux CMR.

Here's where I ended up.

Things that were changed:

ATRS custom 18" barrel in .223 wylde with a 1 in 7 twist, rifle length gas system.
Diamondhead USA 13.5" handguard
AR Gold trigger
Magpul PRS
Sightron SIII 8-32
ADM quick release mount
Ergo deluxe grip

Today was the first day I was able to get out to the range without the wind blowing like mad.

Here was some of the results. All shots were at 100yds from a bench using bags.

Honestly I was going to be ecstatic with anything that was sub MOA, especially on the first time out. I didn't count a couple of the Flyers because those were caused by the loose nut behind the gun. Also would appear that the gun likes 24.5-25gr of CFE 223. I was using remington brass and 70gr berger VLD. I also have some 77gr berger OTM to try out.

So to say I'm happy with the results is an understatement, and couldn't wait to share the results.

Don't put that thought any further into my brain then it already is lol. The build was the fun part. Next is an SBR though, thinking 10.5".

Hold on, let me post mine..... It is a trickster. Looks like a shortie, but it is a 16" shrouded. (Less paperwork to bring it to the states)

Nice gun! It'll be interesting to seehoew much you can tighten the groups up after more load developing and practice.

Very nice AR but i still see a few places you can throw money at it!....it never ends

Don't tempt me. The next place I need to throw money at is a better spotting scope, it's a redfield 20-60x. I had trouble seeing bullet holes at 300yds but just using the scope at 32x I was able to see them fairly well.
