I have been looking at the various 80% lowers out there, in particular the ones recently listed by GP Tactical, and one of the things that just popped out at me when I was watching a video on it was that there is no serial number on it. Now I realize that its just a hunt of polymer as it sits but how would one register it if there completed the build of it?

I´ve heard of several people finishing them and registering with no issues. However if you buy it and sit on it....there is no 80% definition in our laws in Canada. The 80% rule is American....just be aware. You could always be charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and have to foot the bill on defending yourself. I thought about it, but for the cost of a finished lower over an 80% it´s not worth it. I just bought 2 100% poly lowers for $39.95!

As noted, what would be considered "complete" is pretty questionable so the best course of action would be serial number and registration first, then finish it. IMHO obviously.
Please explain how would you get charged for possessing something you can buy without any type of licence and that cannot in any way function as a firearm in its original state. It cannot even accept a trigger group...that certainly doesn't qualify as complete.
Sorry, but until 80% lowers require a RPAL for purchase, what you say is 100% unsupported.

I'm not saying that an 80% lower is a firearm that requires registration, I'm suggesting that knowing where in the finishing process it becomes a firearm that requires registration is unclear, and I'd rather be safe as there is no benefit to leaving a restricted firearm unregistered.
