I'm looking for a bayonet lug-mounted bipod for the SKS.

So far, I've found:

ATI

NcStar
http://www.ncstar.com/product/product-detail.aspx?ModelNo=ABSKS&GroupNo=0

Aim sports

Barska

Does anyone have any experience with these? Recommend one over the others?

Would anyone recommend a barrel-mounted bipod instead?

I just want it to be sturdy and well-constructed...

Do you mean:

1. bayonet lug-mount over barrel mount or
2. use a bayonet and forget about a bipod

lol

A bipod on a SKS is a waste of money IMHO.

But that's just me. I only shoot it on the bench when sighting in, or testing accuracy. Otherwise it's all offhand... or prone with the bayonet stuck in the grass as DILLIGAF mentioned.

If your limited to bench shooting... carry some turf around with you. :)

That's a good point.

I'm just getting started shooting. My plan is an SKS and a bunch of cheap ammo at the range. It's probably best to learn offhand skills first anyway, right?

another vote for the bayonet itself, the bayonet is a very flexible attachment its a shooting stick an extremely useful cleaning tool when using hot water and you can slaughter your paper target if you cant hit it with bullets and.........its real cool looking removing it to stick on a bipod would be criminal!!
