what the hell is with all the necro threads today.
He's bumping these old M96 threads because he's selling one.
now if you convert an ACR to 50 Beo to make full use of those mags I will be more than happy to bring out my 450 ACR for a photo shoot. those mags cry every time you put the anemic 223 round in themSince i have heavily invested in AA Beowolf mags I'm only interested in rifles that take AR mags, so HK is out. That leaves the ACR and the XCR (already own a tavor, i owned a t97).

Now Mike I thought you were smarter than that. I like my HK too and my AA Beo mags work just fine in my SL8/G36 convert. You just have to spend a small bit of $ and a few minutes installing a STANAG/NATO mag well adaptor. All my AA Beowulf mags work perfectly fine in my rifle.

Well yah, but last time I checked at those mag well replacement kits on wolverines website they were 400$!
holy! yah no thats too much.

I guess its better than getting an acr rebarrelled. humm maybe ill think about this.
Here are my problems:
sl8: its an hk so good reliable accurate gun but really frigging heavy and needs 400$ for ar mags not sure if I can shoot it offhand.
xcr: 4 moa, not sure I can cope with that, its skinny, seems like I could shoot it well.
acr: restricted, needs 1000$ and maybe 6 months at herron to make it NR but then its a really good barrel, handguard is really thick, not sure I like that.
sigh, its a conundrum!
what is it you plan to do with the rifle? this may help you decide.Well yah, but last time I checked at those mag well replacement kits on wolverines website they were 400$!

If it is to blast paper and run matches at the range there is no need to pay the surcharge for NR IMO.
If it is to blast paper in the woods for fun in a gravel pit with your buddies using the cheapest bulk ammo, anything NR will do since accuracy will never happen IMO
If it is to hunt, what for that limits you to 223? There are other calibers that would allow you to hunt more species at once ethically. If you are in a province where people are buying coyote pelts I can understand about the pelt damage factor but nobody in my province is buying for a price that makes it worth while so any caliber will do. Even if the province were to offer a bounty, they do not inspect for pelt condition.
I was in the same conundrum at one point but eventually figured out hunting has always been my main goal with every NR rifle, so any semi auto 223 has very little use in that department given the size of even deer around here

If the Tavor ever gets a 300 blackout conversion it would be a hell of a hunting rifle.
New solution: I will build the Canadian Foriegn Legion, we will take our various black rifles on tours of Mali, Sudan, DRC, and Yemen. We'll youtube the entire thing and put the rifles through combat. Upon coming home we'll make millions recommending odd accessories from premium manufacturers and drop hinting posts on other forums that anyone who disagrees with our assessment is cowardly.
Then everyone gets to host tactical courses and tell war stories.
You know that you can get it done locally for $550 right? And that wait will be considerably less, like weeks not months.
with the 110gr bullet it is basically a 7.62x39 (looking at ballistics), with the heavier bullets it is really not up to par to be taking moose, elk and bears ethically IMOIf the Tavor ever gets a 300 blackout conversion it would be a hell of a hunting rifle.
