Don't have a Chrony.
Could someone share a chronied Minor load using 115 TMJ RN with Titegroup that would get as low as possible on the PF scale and still pass every time.
Gun is a S&W 986

Thanks in advance.

I think you'll need to do the leg work yourself on this one. Different guns can have different velocities with the same load even, so if you're trying to stay just above the 125 line, you're gonna have to find out with your gun.

Yup!!

And a load just above PF minimum is a very bad idea if you plan to shoot major matches. My revolver minor load chronies 130-132 depending on the day and the equipment. You want a healthy safety margin. Failing chrony is a bad way to drop out of a match!

Don't play around with minimum power factor. It's not worth the effort. I shoot a 147 at about 133 pf. Honestly there's very little difference in perceived recoil between my load and a 125 pf with the same bullet.

I also shoot around 130-132PF...no sense riding so close to floor...plus my loads were more accurate at 130 than they were at 125.

'Most' people seem to try to hit around 5 above the minimum PF floor - reasons are all chrony's read a little differently, at a match they typically run two back to back and use the higher number. Also temperature will affect the result a little and I've heard people say that humidity when you loaded the ammo has an effect as well.

If you don't want to buy find someone who has a chrony and ask them if you can have a chrony night at the range :) Most people would be happy to bring one down and set it up as typically you always have something you'd like to chrony on the back burner.... Helps if you offer the buy a beer afterwards of course....

Plated bullets tend to vary in weight, even the good ones. Could be enough fall under PF if you are aiming for 125 and are unfortunate enough to have a couple light ones pulled

10-4, thanks guys. Suppose I should get a chrony, have been putting if off for ages.

Cheers again.

Doesn't mean you can't load up a few boxes of light loads just for fun. I loaded up some cast bullet and Clays (I think it was) powder puff loads. Absolutely hilarious that they were able to cycle. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn though.
